Item up for sale is a beautiful antique Gilbert mantel clock that was found with it’s pendulum. Clock was NOT found with a key and new owner will need to provide their own. Clock was wound (used our master key which is NOT included) and right winding peg did not turn and is effectively seized. The left turning peg did move with some resistance and will need adjustment or repair. The dial cover is detached as you can see in photos and will need to be repaired. Metal dial bears the Gilbert mark and original hands are in place. Pendulum shows tarnish and patina. Brass bezel and dial door framing shows tarnish and patina and could use a polish. Glass in dial cover shows no chips, cracks or breaks. Wooden case shows some spots of finish wear to the surfaces most notably with scratches on the top of the casing with some light wood wear around edges and corners. Rear panel door is present and functional. Wooden body shows no cracks or breaks in the wood. Internal movement has a magnetic metal frame with brass gears. Movement bears no mark that we can see though it may be impressed on the dial side. Movement as a whole shows tarnish and patina and could use a polish. Interior of the clock shows soiling and dust and could use a good cleaning. All original feet are present with board on underside of the base showing surface wear and residue of an old label. Clock as a whole shows some dust and soiling in nooks and crannies and could use a detail cleaning. Clock body measures 11″ top to bottom by 18″ wide by 5-1/2″ in depth.
