These are Brand New Seasonic SS-250SU power supplies that have been Professionally modified to mate with the wiring of your 6418 or 6414. The Highpoint version of the SS-250SU, and ours, have a 12 pin and a 16 pin connector on a very short 2 inch and 3 inch cable. Don’t be fooled by the many SS-250SU listings with long cables and different connectors that WILL NOT WORK in your unit. The EASY replacement procedure. The replacement of the power supply in your RS 6414 or RS 6418 is relatively simple and does not require any special tools or technical knowledge. The only tool required is a #2 Phillips (medium sized, cross point) screwdriver. The following 2 paragraphs describe the entire procedure. First, Spread a towel on your worktable to prevent your RS 6414 or RS 6418 from getting scratched. Position your RS 6414 or 6418 on its back with the mounting feet facing up. You may see two screws that need to be removed. In addition, there are 4 more screws that are hidden under the rubber feet. These rubber feet are secured with rubber cement. Lift up these rubber feet and remove the 4 screws holding the cover in place. Next, carefully turn the unit on its nose with the rear panel facing up. Remove the 4-6 screws holding the rear panel and remove the rear panel. Now you can slide the case up and off the unit. You will see the power supply mounted on the top shelf, secured by two screws. First unplug the 12 pin and 16 pin connectors and the AC Power Input connector from the old power supply, remove the 2 mounting screws and lift out the old Power Supply. Remove the angle mounting bracket from the end of the old power supply and install this bracket on the new power supply. Connect the AC Power Cord, Mount and secure the new power supply on the shelf and connect the 12 pin and the 16 pin connectors. Be sure that these two connectors are fully engaged and latched. Next, re-install the main housing and the rear cover. Re-install the rubber feet… you may need a small amount of new rubber cement. Now, you should be ready to go. Re-install the drives, re-connect the system and see how well it works. If you run into any difficulty send me a message and I will gladly assist you at NO Charge.
